It won’t be quite plucking fruit straight from the trees, but a hypermarket has opened in Dubai’s first nature-inspired mall, DubaiWeek reports.
Carrefour is the first store to start trading at Cityland Mall, a short drive away from Easy18 which offers quality living at an affordable price. A stone’s throw away from the best Dubai has to offer, residents will have quick access to the top schools and entertainment venues including the following:
Dubai Autodrome
Dubai Festival City
Dubai Frame
Dubai Garden Glow
Dubai Global Village
Dubai Miracle Garden
Dubai Outlet Mall
Dubai Safari Park
IMG Worlds of Adventure
Major landmarks are currently in development in this part of Dubai as well including the world’s next tallest tower and largest shopping mall, Cityland mall, Dubai Library, Dubai Museum of the Future and many other.
The 109,000 square foot store off the 311 Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Highway, will be joined by other retail brands over the coming months. No confirmed names yet, but there’ll be home furnishing stores, banks, exchange services, pharmacies, telecom providers and, of course, places to eat and drink. Good news for residents of nearby Easy18 Apartments.
– the new hypermarket will sell fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, “high-quality non-food products” and have a Healthy Kitchen aisle, as well as Food2Go, and Cuisines of the World. Something for everyone.
Although the rest of the mall isn’t quite ready yet, once its doors open, it’s going to be like having the outdoors indoors. Main attraction at the 2.2 million sq ft space will be a 200,000 square foot open-air Central Park, overlooked by 22 restaurants and cafés. Some of them will even have roof-top terraces, for a real back-to-nature feel.
Not just a green space, Central Park will also be home to a cluster of 300-year-old trees, Japanese-inspired landscaping and a 360-degree rooftop garden.
Big enough to welcome 7,000 people, the park is being created by Miracle Garden Landscaping, the same team behind Dubai’s Miracle and Butterfly Gardens, who know a thing or two about creating green havens in challenging conditions.
There’ll also be a 3,000-seat amphitheatre for hosting theatre shows and the whole outdoor area will be circled by a track, so a trip to the mall could actually become a workout.
With summer coming up and the great outdoors becoming less hospitable, we can’t wait for Cityland Mall to fully open.
