With a new Canal Walk, City Walk, 32-km cycle tracks at a cost of AED67 million, new marine stations, pedestrian bridges and public spaces Dubai is becoming more pedestrian-friendly. Many of the malls being developed in Dubai will also be inspired by a sense of community.
The canal that cuts through Dubai’s Business Bay was just sand not long ago. Today it’s changing the district into an up-and-coming area. Other communities are also taking steps to become more pedestrian-friendly:
