Dubai Municipality has launched a unique initiative in cooperation with its strategic partners in the private sector to train the fresh graduates who are sent by the Municipality to private companies and institutions to work in fields that are compatible with the Municipality specialties.
Dawood Al Hajiri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, affirmed that this initiative is the first of its kind in the promotion of on-the-job training through cooperation with the Municipality’s strategic partners in the private sector, especially those working in areas that are in line with the functions of municipal work.
“The initiative aims at providing graduates with basic skills in their fields of specialisation in line with the Municipality’s plans for development. It will also strengthen the base of partnerships with the private sector through knowledge exchange, transfer of specialised knowledge and adding new practical expertise in the fields of specialisation. The Municipality looks forward to achieve these at the hands of specialists in this field according to the latest methods of training, which will contribute to build their abilities and enable them in the field of specialisation,” he said.
Al Hajiri added that training for new graduates would take a full year and the Municipality will undertake a careful follow-up through all stages of training.
