Three malls to be built near Easy18 Apartments

Singapore-based Chinese firm Samanea Group will develop a 570,000 sq ft retail mall in Dubai which will focus on home appliances and furniture, Arabian Business reports.

Dubai developer Meraas has signed an agreement with Singapore-based Chinese company Samanea Group that will see a AED1 billion ($272 million) mall come to fruition in 2021 near Dubai International City.

The inaugural Big C Forum witnessed the signing, with six key Chinese manufacturers and businesses also inking the letter of intent, a statement said.

Samanea Group will develop the 570,000 sq ft retail outlet which will focus on home appliances and furniture from small, medium and big Chinese businesses seeking a foothold in the GCC market. The mall will also hold space for 1,800 parking spaces.

Tan Li, acting Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, said: “In recent years, both China-UAE and China-Dubai relations have developed very fast. Among the Middle East countries, the UAE has conducted the most in-depth and fruitful cooperation with China.

“With its social stability, good infrastructure, ease of doing business and culture of tolerance, Dubai attracts more and more Chinese enterprises. In 2018, China was Dubai’s largest trade partner for the fifth consecutive year, bilateral trade reaching $37.9 billion.”

She added: “The ‘Hala China’ programme launched last year, built a platform for the cooperation between China and Dubai in economy, trade, investment, tourism and culture. This programme has enhanced our bilateral cooperation and made remarkable achievements.”

This is not the only mall opening near Easy18 Apartments in the near future. The 1.2 million square foot Nad Al Sheba mall will feature around 200 shops, restaurants and entertainment outlets including a supermarket, department stores, multi-screen cinema, medical centre and fitness centre.
Last but not least, Dubai Square is set to become the world’s next largest mall. Dubbed the ‘future of retail’ Dubai Square will be a super sized, tech-driven mall at the upcoming Dubai Creek Harbour development.
Almost twice the size of The Dubai Mall at roughly 100 football pitches, the three-storey mall will feature an events arena, luxury retail, dining and leisure outlets as well as the Middle East’s first Chinatown.
A cineplex, waterpark and a an art district are also planned parts of the project.  The ground floor will act as a defacto events arena with 3D projection mapping and will be fitted out to be able to host concerts, theatre shows and celebrity performances.
The first floor will consist of a four-lane boulevard with retail outlets equipped with smart fitting rooms and interactive mirrors, restaurants serving fusion, vegan, Peruvian and French-Vietnamese cuisine, and a grand luxury avenue with live cooking stations, street vendors and even an organic market.
Finally, the second floor is where all the experiential attractions will reside, including an ‘Ice Adventure’, a cineplex, a waterpark, sports area and a supermarket with a metro link.
